Oh man, not again. Less than a week after unleashing her seven-minute-long Nicki Minaj diss “shETHER,” Remy Ma returns with the DJ Khaled-inspired “Another One.” Following a soundbite from another Nicki foe, Mariah Carey, the Bronx rapper lashes out at her Young Money rival with a flow reminiscent of Drake’s “Back to Back.”
“I guess now you know who the head bitch is / I’ma savage / I be killin’ dead bitches / I bet you wish that you ain’t never said shit / Now they so busy shooting videos / And I’m like nah, where the fuck is your song, c’mon,” raps Remy, referencing Nicki’s latest shoot with Future.
She continues chiding Nicki for not responding to her first diss: “Waited four days, ma / Where you been / I came here in the ‘Rari playing Lil’ Kim … I beat you with punches in 48, you Ronda Rousey / The wigs and nose, you a whole clown, B / I better not hear you say anything about me.”
Nicki is overseas for Paris Fashion Week, and it’s unclear if she intends to respond. Meanwhile, “shETHER” is currently No. 9 on iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.
First Diss Track “ShETHER”
While Twitter was speculating, Remy Ma was writing. Yesterday (Feb. 24), the internet was in an uproar after surmising that Nicki Minaj was taking shots at the Bronx MC on her two new tracks “Make Love” and “Swalla.” Remy needs no confirmation as she curbs the subliminals and sets things off with the full-fledged diss “shETHER,” which you can hear below.
Remy released the song on her Twitter page, along with the caption, “‘You wanna see a dead body’ (little kid from BoyzNdaHood voice).”
The song starts off with a vocal clip of a tipsy-sounding Nicki yelling out, “Free Remy,” followed by a succession of gun shots. Fittingly going in over Nas’ “Ether,” Remy starts, “Are you dumb? You a pink diamond chicken wing chain. You had a leather beehive on your head. Are you forgettin’ that I pressed you before, bitch?”
Then, the verbal hay-makers commence. “I saw Meek at All-Star; he told me your ass drop/He couldn’t fuck you for three months because your ass dropped/NowI don’t think you understand how bad her ass got/The implants that you had put in her ass popped,” she raps.
She continues with even more upper-cuts, rapping, “Been through mad fools, you disloyal hoochie/Now all of a sudden you back with Drake and Tunechi?/After you said you sucked his dick, you back with Gucci/Who next, Puff, Deb or 50? You a A-list groupie.”
Things get even more personal when Remy brings up Nicki’s brother’s child molestation case and more. It gets ugly.
Minaj has seemingly clapped back with a couple Instagram posts listing the less than stellar sales for Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s new album, Plata O Plomo. “Yikes,” she captioned the writeup with a face palm emoji.
Will Minaj answer to these bars though? That is the question.
