16 year old Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo made history by becoming the first Ugandan to win the IAAF world Cross country championship as he walked away with a staggering paycheck of $30,000 US dollars. Kiplimo became a darling yesterday after crossing the finish line at a time of 22 minutes and 40 seconds.
The youngster who’s a 2016 world U20 10,000 metres bronze medalist took on Kenya’s Amos Kirui to win the U20 junior race.
The sweet 16-year-old Jacob Kiplimo stole the hearts of many Ugandans yesterday as Ugandan fans nationwide celebrated his victory in jubilation. The teenager has made a name for himself and defied all the odds thus deserving to be today’s Man Crush on our MCM special edition and we are proud as Ugandans to celebrate in his victory.

Kiplimo, the youngest ever Ugandan Olympian was born on 14 November 2000. He’s a Sebei who grew up in Bukwo on Mount Elgon. In 2016 he represented Uganda at the Summer Olympics running the 5,000 metres race though he didn’t go past the heats.
