Till death do us part a young man in Mbarara has set him and his wife ablaze after he found her cheating on him. They say Love is blind and Indeed love was blind for this young man Eric Atushemeza 28 a former employee of Uganda Breweries Limited who had been paying tuition for his girlfriend .The young lady Penninah Natamba a student at Bishop Stuart University was set to attend her graduation ceremony this Friday. They had their lives all planned out.
Locals told police that the two had developed misunderstandings when the husband caught the woman with another man. On Tuesday, they say, they saw the husband removing his belongings from the house early in the morning at around 4am.Later, neighbors say he returned to the house, locked the doors and next thing they heard was wailing from his wife for help.
They say they rushed in for help only to find the doors and windows locked and all they could see was fire and smoke inside.
Police was called in and they managed to break walls and retrieve the two. The husband was already deceased while Natamba was rushed to Mbarara Hospital where she died shortly after arrival.
According to police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, Ms Natamba had just completed her studies and was waiting to graduate on Friday this week.
