Contrary to reports in the media and other digital outlets the Ministry of Education and Ministry of health are yet to agree on a proposed date for the opening of Universities and other higher institutions of learning
Minister of Higher education Dr. John Cryston Muyingo made the communcations yesterday cautioning Universities and schools of higher learning to await the greenlight from the presidents meeting with NHCE and other stakeholers today.
According to the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), numerous institutions have requested to reopen having prepared a new academic calendar and plans for implementing COVID-19 SOPs.
In October 2020, higher institutions of learning reopened for finalists.
Some continued conducting lectures online for continuing students and held both in-person and online exams.
