Victoria University tells lecturers to return once covid is out of Uganda if they don’t get vaccinated

Jinja road based Victoria University has issued tough guidelines to all it’s lecturers who have been adamant about getting vaccinated for the deadly corona virus.

These tough measures from the University management came days after the Ministry of health indicated that there was a worrying surge of covid 19 cases among learner’s in different schools across the country.

The letter dated 28th May from the University’s human resource department ordered all lecturers at the campus to get their jabs between 28th May-4th June. This is aimed at safeguarding everyone within the university.

The letter went ahead to warn those who were reluctant about taking the jab that they will be dealt with seriously.

“Whoever misses the jab, kindly don’t come back to work until COVID-19 is out of Uganda. Management will not risk the lives of the stakeholders”, an excerpt from the letter reads.

The spike in cases among learner’s even saw Kyambogo university suspend physical classes in favor of e-learning.

The President while addressing the covid 19 cases surge urged people to observe the SOPs put in place by the ministry of health because the situation is soon getting out of hand.
