Mbarara University set to reopen for Medical students amidst vaccination

National Council for Higher Education permitted medical schools and health training institutions to open for final year students as soon as 13th August this year.

The Academic Registrar of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Dr. Martha Kyoshaba has revealed the requirements needed for medical students as they report back next week.

Following the memo that was shared with the medical finalists, Dr. Martha made it mandatory that each student be vaccinated so as to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

” I write to invite for in-person classes for semester 11, 2021 on Monday 23rd August 2021. You are advised to be under listed, for your safety and everyone around you”, the memo states.

The students are required to report with the following; A box of surgical masks, Sanitizer bottles for refilllimg when the sanitizer is finished, Clinical/laboratory coats and Light blue scrubs for MBChB students.

“Every final year medical student will be required to be vaccinated. The faculty of medicine together with Mbarara regional referral hospital have agreed to prioritize you when the vaccines are available”, the memo states further.
