Makerere University Business School MUBS has suspended carriage of bags into university until further notice following the bomb scare that occurred on Tuesday 16th November 2021 in Kampala near Kooki Towers and Parliamentary Avenue.
This university is accessed by many students and guests on a daily and following the terrorism threats in the country, the security together with the Heads of University is working to make sure everyone inside and outside the university is protected.
“Bags have been declared a serious security threat to students and non- students during this harsh period. Therefore, this is to inform all students that with Effect from 17th November 2021 (Wednesday) security will not allow bags to enter MUBS gates until further notice,” the OC MUBS police station notified the community.
The security personnel also informed the vendors and hawkers at the main gate of MUBS that all businesses are halted until further notice.
“All businesses carried out at the main gate are also suspended,” the OC added.
Only transparent bags to allow carriage of books and laptops will be allowed inside the premises.
Furthermore, Kyambogo University introduced a no bags policy into university ever since the Komamboga bombings with Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) also following suite yesterday.
