NUP Candidate Wins MUST Guild Elections

It has become quite a common phenomenon for the National Unity Platform (NUP) sweeping elections in most of the higher academic institutions of learning.

This was just another case in the just concluded guild elections at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

The party’s candidate Justus Mugenyi Kizito was declared the winner of the guild elections that took place at the University.

“Congratulations to the Guild president elect H.E Jastus Mugenyi Kizito. The University looks forward to your dedicated service. Succeed we must.” the University officially announced.

Mugenyi won the vote that had five contestants convincingly after garnering 1,767 votes.

His rivals performed as follows: Muyanja Isaac garnered 731 votes followed by Beda Witness (268 votes) while Mugambe Victor came fourth with 238 votes.

NUP’s president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine took to his Twitter page to congratulate Mugenyi.

Kyagulanyi said that despite the intimidation and hardships, the students had spoken clearly and asserted their will.
