]]>The youngster who’s a 2016 world U20 10,000 metres bronze medalist took on Kenya’s Amos Kirui to win the U20 junior race.
The sweet 16-year-old Jacob Kiplimo stole the hearts of many Ugandans yesterday as Ugandan fans nationwide celebrated his victory in jubilation. The teenager has made a name for himself and defied all the odds thus deserving to be today’s Man Crush on our MCM special edition and we are proud as Ugandans to celebrate in his victory.
The teenager made Ugandan hearts melt as he recieved a plethora of valentines day flowers from the beautiful Ugandan ladies who witnessed him become a phenomenal figure in the Ugandan sports industry
The First Lady and President were in attendance to congratulate this young extraordinary lad upon achieving such a magnificent fit. The country is proud of you,” President Museveni wrote.
Kiplimo, the youngest ever Ugandan Olympian was born on 14 November 2000. He’s a Sebei who grew up in Bukwo on Mount Elgon. In 2016 he represented Uganda at the Summer Olympics running the 5,000 metres race though he didn’t go past the heats.

]]>Kampala makes history today as the first city to start the inaugural mixed relay race to be contested by teams composed of two men and two women who will each run a two-kilometre loop, in any order they wish.
Most races set to begin now in the afternoon currently the mixed 4 by 2 kilometre race is taking place.The schedule of events plus television and streaming information for the races appears below.
Schedule
Mixed 4 x 2K relay: 2:00 p.m. local
Women’s U20 6K race: 2:30 p.m. local
Men’s U20 8K race: 3:10 p.m. local
Women’s senior 10K race: 3:55 p.m. local
Men’s senior 10K race: 4:55 p.m. local
How to watch / listen: If you live in the UK, you can watch it live on BBC Red Button or if you have a UK IP address, you can watch the race live online via the BBC. In the U.S., the races will be streamed on NBC Sports’ website on tape delay, with coverage beginning at 12:25 p.m. ET. We do not know of a (legal) live stream in the U.S.
The IAAF will also have a live radio broadcast (active during competition sessions).
