]]>It is evident enough that Spice Diana was certainly battered and bruised while there seems to be no sign of injury or identification to the alleged assaulted Policeman. The brutal marking on her body say it all.
Spice Diana Spoke of her horrific ordeal and wished for the same thing not to happen to a Ugandan Citizen through her social media pages.
“This goes to police force in uganda. Today after my first performance at the carnival I was beaten So badly and disrespected by ruthless so called police officers and I am nursing wounds. We give you power to protect us, keep law and order but its you the same people that go against the law and do vice verser .why should we be treated like strangers in our own country. You employ heartless humans with no sense of humanity.”
She also made it clear to promoters to also take measures to protect artist ho they have hired to perform.
“Dear #bivulu promoters as you invite us to entertain and happen with our people, also show some respect and value our dear lives therefore heir trained and professional police officers for security and not gamblers that have a lot of problems in their families”
This scenario puts Justice in the spotlight, especially against Uganda police one really wonders whether beating someone like a goat is justification for civilians not following the rules.

]]>Jeremiah Mukyemu, a fourth year medical student has been accused by a former employee of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) of allegedly defiling his daughter.
Yeko Bwana, a resident of Lumuli Village in Mukono, says that Mukyemu raped his daughter identified as Agnes Nadia in 2015 when she was still a first year student at MUK, but his efforts to get justice from Wandegeya police were fruitless.
Bwana says Mukyemu was dragged to Wandegeya police and charged with rape vide file number SD REF 22/10/10/2015, but later the Resident State Attorney and police foiled investigations, before dropping the case.
When asked about the matter, Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Emiliano Kayima said “That case was reported but the State Attorney had a lot of queries with it and the family failed to provide necessary evidence to cause the arrest of the suspect, so we pushed it aside.”
Bwana however says that “The police frustrated our efforts to get justice. How can the State Attorney say there was no evidence yet there was a lot of blood? The girl was taken to hospital, how can they say that there was no evidence when there was a medical report? Mukyemu even wrote an apology letter admitting to have committed the crime and asking for my forgiveness but the police still say there was no evidence?”
Bwana, who was speaking amidst tears, said that “After being raped, my daughter fled from home. Since then I have never seen her. Mukyemu should be put in jail and let the law take its own course. And you my daughter Agnes Nadia, I beg you wherever you are to return home please.”
Mukyemu is currently in detention at Wandegeya police station where cops are investigating him over two charges of the attempted rape and attempted murder of another student.
Jeremiah who isn’t her boyfriend; was just some horny guy in his 4th year offering bachelors of medicine and surgery. It is alleged that Jeremiah has raped many other girls but has always found his way around courts of law and police. Brenda was yet to be another one of his victims but she jumped out of fear to avoid becoming another of his victims.
Police has clarified on the horrifying incident and a case file of attempted rape has been lodged against Jeremiah.
Speaking exclusively to Chimp Reports, Makerere Chief Security Officer (CSO) Jackson Mucungizi identified the suspect as Jeremiah Mukyemu, 26, a Mugisu by tribe and student of Medicine and Surgery. He said the two had met in Wandegeya earlier in the day before Mukyemu invited his victim to come check out his room. “He made the first attempt to rape her but it failed. He then locked the room and tried again, still without any success. This is when he left her locked up and went to buy some things from the canteen,” Mucunguzi told Chimp Reports. He said that the already threatened lady also boiled water in a percolator which she would use in case the guy made another attempt. “When the guy opened the room, the lady poured the hot water into his face and things got out of control. The guy became very violent and with the room locked, this forced the lady to jump out the window.”
Mucunguzi said that the suspect had been apprehended and is being held at Wandegeya Police Station. “He had another similar case in 2015 where he tried to rape another girl and went into hiding. They later sorted themselves with the girl’s family and he came back to school.”
The Chief Security Officer warned students against drug abuse, a practice he says has led to many such behaviors.“Students should stop smoking marijuana, shisha and taking Kuber. These drugs cause them not to think properly,” he said.

When asked what had transpired, the victim, amid sharp gasps of pain, through her bloodstained lips, intimated that she had been locked inside the room she had fallen from and that she had been threatened by the room occupant of the male only hall who is known as Jeremiah. When asked how long she had known the said Jeremiah, she mentioned that they had been acquainted since the start of the semester.” I jumped on my own, I was locked in the room and I jumped” ,according to reports Brenda jumped to save her life after Jeremiah the occupant of the room tried to rape her countless times but failed to force her into submission. Jeremiah then locked her in his room after numerous unsuccessful attempts of trying to rape her.
Doctors are doing their best to save her life and she is now in stable condition says a close friend.
Police then launched an ambush to arrest the suspect on run, Bravo to OC Kasibante, ops commander Jude Masingano, Sgt Byaruhanga and Ip Mbadi for their quick response in apprehending Jeremiah who was on the run. The Mitchell hall community is saddened by the incident, the unfortunate always happens but we never always give it a thought. Well Mitchell Hall in Makerere University has just experienced one of its worst things to go in history.

Move to Clean up Halls

]]>A bunch of pain killers were discovered from his pocket, which indicate that he was going through a lot of stress, causing him excruciating pain to the brain and a lot of headache.
How he died?
Due to the excruciating pain Otira had felt he collapsed on Wednesday evening after work in his room at the staff quarters in Makerere next to Lumumba. Otira made a desperate attempt for his phone which had fallen into bits meters away with the battery scattered far away from the device. He also made an attempt and struggle to crawl on his belly out of the room to rescue himself but his last gasp effort was not enough to save him.
It was also surprising to find out that his land lady who had been denying anyone access to the room had locked Otira’s room door on discovery that the door was left open. A one Opio a close friend of Michael and Staff of CEDAT school of engineering where Michael was studying Mechanical Engineering had been trying on several occasions to enter Otira’s residence since Friday but was unsuccessful due to the Land lady’s Strict rules to not allow any stranger near the residents. Opio’s instincts grew more suspicious after calling Otira’s wife who also had no idea about the whereabouts of her husband claimed she last talked to him on Wednesday when he was at work. This indicated something quite unusual to Opio who had been trying so hard to contact Otira.
By Monday the stench and pungent smell could be noticed around Otira’s room prompting Opio to storm Makerere Police and have them to break into Opio’s room only to find the horrific sight of Otira’s shocking decomposing body on the floor.

]]>He was residing in one of the staff quarters on the western gate Murom road stretch nearing Lumumba Hall.
According to witnesses including neighbors and residents at the scene, Michael must have succumbed to electric shock considering the burns that were discovered on his body. Otira’s body has been taken to Mulago referral Hospital by Uganda Police for a post-mortem. We shall keep you posted about any information that comes on Michael’s death once they emerge. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The self proclaimed revolutionary son picked nomination forms to contest for the Makerere Guild Elections which are taking pace this Friday April 7th 2017, but he was unfortunately scrapped off the list of approved candidates due to his bad criminal records with Uganda Police for participating and spearheading a number of strikes in Makerere University.
He is set to make an official statement and declaration tomorrow on Monday 3rd April about his candidature in the Makerere Guild Election 2017 or his possible attempt to support another candidate in the current Makerere Guild Race.

An injustice ceases to be one when those perpetuating it are the very ones you once considered family. It now becomes betrayal, leaving me in a state of melancholy. My subscription to FDC at national level should never be questioned or subjected to debate, but the intrigue in the FDC-Makerere University chapter cannot go unmentioned.
I did not participate in the FDC guild president primaries because subjectivity, malice, bias, and personal interests cannot be the basis and benchmark of such a sensitive process, that would be going against my core values and beliefs in the rule of law and democracy.
Mine has been a dream from day one, a dream that I share with you all ordinary Makerereans, of seeing a better Makerere University. My candidature is your candidature, your dream is my dream, your vision is my vision, and your agenda is my agenda. But most importantly-My Victory is your Victory.
My candidature has been frustrated from all angles and beyond reasonable doubt. But forget not, you cannot fight an idea whose time has come. For me to run for guild presidency has never been for my own selfish interests, but rather to represent students’ interests. The guild president is only the face of the struggle. If my candidature has been frustrated, I assure you my entire fellow Makerereans Society has never been devoid of capable leaders to carry on the mantle.
On Monday (3rd/April/2017), out of the many, we believe will keep the dream of seeing a better Makerere University alive. To team Wanyera, to team hope, to all those who believe in the struggle, I say thank you all for the support.
Come Monday, we shall have a stand-One that will make Makerere University a better place.

]]>The Research fellow of the university was today indefinitely suspended from Makerere University. The Makerere appointments board suspended Dr Nyanzi after her continuous scathing attacks on the First Lady and Education minister- calling her “brainless” and a woman with a “tinier vagina.”

“It is regrettable that Dr Stella Nyanzi has made it a habit to insult, dehumanize and castigate the line minister of education and sports under whose docket Makerere University’s supervision falls.” The letter by Mr. Bruce B Kabaasa, the chairperson Makerere University appointments board reads in part. ]]>Police has also arrested several Democratic Party (DP) members including Kampala Central councilor, Mr. Moses Katabu and three other members of Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) ; Andrew Mugonza, Charles Waswa and Robison Kijjambu over their planned meeting with DP Iron lady Nambooze at Nsambya Sharing Hall in Kampala.
They were arrested by police as they tried to force their way into Nsambya Sharing Hall where Ms Nambooze was scheduled to hold a consultative meeting with a section of DP members from Buganda sub-region.
They were bundled on a waiting police pickup and taken to Kabalagala Police Station.
Addressing journalists this morning amid tight security at the venue, the regional police commander, Mr. Geoffrey Kaheebwa said Ms Nambooze’s request to hold the meeting was not accepted because she did not follow her party processes as required by the law.
Police was deployed in the early hours of the morning to block Mukono municipality MP, Betty Nambooze’s planned meeting at Nsambya Sharing Hall. Early this month, Ms Nambooze who also doubles as the Buganda region DP vice president, vowed to go on with her planned conference. This followed a directive by the party president, Mr. Nobert Mao stopping Ms Nambooze from holding the meeting, saying it was contrary to the party constitution.
In letter dated March 20, 2017 to Ms Nambooze, Mr. Mao said the party laws give him powers to ensure that party officials perform their duties efficiently, but in accordance with the party constitution and policies.
According to Mr. Mao, the purported meeting is being convened contrary to the party constitution and a standing resolution of the National Executive Meeting (NEC), which requires regional leaders to coordinate their programmes with NEC and get prior approval.
However, Ms Nambooze told journalists that Buganda is her jurisdiction and does not need to get approval to do her work from Mao or NEC.
Ms Nambooze’s meeting is being organized under the theme; “Making DP Great Again”

]]>Now today was just enough as the merciless police and afande’s with their poor taste in cakey fashion fired numerous rounds tear gas at Makerere students who were attending a peaceful guild presidential rally today. The intoxicating, notorious and pungent gas filled up Mitchell hall and trapped the students inside a caged suffocating dome created by the clouds of teargas that were formed due to a number of tear gas canister explosions in within the vicinity of Mitchell hall which is the proclaimed capital City of Makerere University as the Mitchellites call it.
The students were locked inside as per Electoral commission guidelines which require all main entrances and exits to be locked during the rally to reduce disorganization.
The Makerere students ran a mock inside when Lumumba students caused a lot of fracas at the only available open entrance at Mitchell which was a small gate leading from one of Mitchell’s stair cases causing Mitchell’s RGB(Mitchell’s Guard brigade) to react and chase away the Lumumbists. Bricks and concrete large stone were picked up as the battle between the two sets of students and violent foes intensified. Police intervened in a desperate attempt to prevent destruction by dispersing the rowdy crowd with a few rounds of tear gas.
The Teargas spread from the entrance to the inside suffocating and intoxicating the students lungs who were trapped inside and looking for refuge at Mitchell main gate. Another stray canister of tear gas exploded in their midst causing the students to panic and a number of students who were outside to scatter from the burning sensation of the tear gas.
The students all rallied at the main entrance in a bid to save themselves from further intoxication and suffering as they gasped for air while clasping onto the latches of the iron barred gate. The angered and terrified students desperately shook the metallic frindges of magnificent Mitchell gate to try and take it down but to no avail as the metallic bars kept hold from the weight and the thrust of the raging infuriated students. Quickly the Mitchell custodians managed to get hold of the key to the gate and open it during the chaos. Students ran out like tigers taking to the hills of the great ivory tower, some escaping from the mist and intoxicating fury of the venomous and poisonous gas while others notably most notably Lumumbists who were not fazed by the police attempt to prevent a battle between them and the Mithcellite’s. The Lumumba batallion regrouped to launch another fatal attack on both the police and the Mitchell RGB that had refused them entrance into their hall but they were stopped in their tracks as Police fired more canisters of tear gas to disperse the rowdy crowd of students. Plenty of students sought refuge and a safe haven a good number rushing to kikoni and other hall of residence. A number of students could be seen desperately in search of water to pour on their faces due to the blinding effect of the tear gas.
The situation later calmed down and the rally resumed with each candidate being allowed to finish their presentations.
