Hey guys, guess what? The hilarious Anne Kansiime just dropped a major bombshell! You know how everyone thought she had a degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University? Well, turns out that’s not true at all!

Oops, I Didn’t Graduate

In a recent interview, Anne confessed that she never actually finished her university studies. Can you believe it? She studied for three years, but when it was time to graduate, she had to retake a couple of course units. Bummer!

A Clever Plan

Instead of facing the music and retaking those courses, Anne came up with a sneaky plan. She decided to skip the graduation ceremony altogether and trick her family into thinking she had graduated.

Convincing Her Parents

So, here’s what she did. Anne bought a graduation gown, called her parents, and convinced them not to come to the ceremony. She told them it would be a waste of money. And guess what? It worked! Her dad was all about saving cash, so he was totally on board with skipping the event.

No Degree, No Problem

Even though Anne doesn’t have a university degree, she’s not bothered at all. She’s already super successful in her career, making lots of money. And her parents don’t really care about her academic pursuits anymore.

A Little Photoshop Magic

To make it seem like she graduated, Anne took some pictures in a graduation gown and sent them to her parents. They never suspected a thing! Talk about clever!

Comedy Queen Reigns Supreme

Now, Anne is at the top of her game, and she’s not letting her lack of a degree hold her back. She went to Makerere University, and her classmates can vouch for that. Plus, she’s not planning on running for any political office, so it’s all good.

Turning Scandal into Laughter

Just like she always does, Anne turned this whole situation into another hilarious punchline. Her fans are loving it, and she continues to make everyone laugh with her comedy. University degree or not, Anne Kansiime is the queen of comedy!

Renowned fresher at Makerere University, Henry Suubi Kiyimba has recently graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He overcame unnecessary criticism on social media for simply carrying a metal suitcase throughout his college journey. However, he persevered and completed his degree this year.

Rumours have it that Suubi, who received support to pursue engineering, landed his first job at an engineering firm just months before graduating from Makerere.

Suubi expressed his happiness by saying, “I am filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude after completing my BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Makerere University.

“The journey has been challenging yet rewarding, and I am grateful for the Lord’s guidance and support throughout.”

I owe my success to Mr Aita Joel, my mentor and project supervisor. He is the founder of Joadah Consult, a company that provides professional technical and management support services in the region.

Throughout his entire university journey, Suubi was consistently supported with both academic and financial aid from The Joadah Group.

It is sad to announce the sudden death of a student who was stabbed while attending the Guild President elections.

Betungura Buwatte was a student from Uganda Christian University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law.

This led to the suspension and halting of the elections by the Chairperson of the University Council Ms Magara Lorna.

The deceased had come to Makerere University for a final Campaign rally of his high school friend Justus Tukamushaba, an FDC Guild aspirant in the 88th Guild race.

Furthermore, the Uganda Christian University Law Society through its Speaker Mr Bill Dancan Kumbaine has eulogised Buwatte.

Eulogy message

Investigations are still underway on who stabbed Buwatte to death without remorse during the scuffle between the two parties of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the National Resistance Movement( NRM).

May His Soul Rest In Peace!

Mutesi Hadijah, Journalism and Communication student together with her team excited everyone present at the Serena based TV station dubbed NTV Uganda.

They were snapped overwhelmed standing in the NTV Live at One studio that spread like fire on social media.

Dressed in her gray attire, Hadijah took over the studio looking like an anchor ready to broadcast her news to the audience. Her confidence was undeniably charming that wowed many that saw her.

With the scene of this, many assumed she was going to be the new face reading news for NTV Uganda  following the amazing anchors like Sandra Twinoburyo, Faridah Nakazibwe, Frank Walusimbi to mention but a few.

To sum it up, every dog has its special day. There are a lot of gaps in the employment sectors for graduates in Uganda but hope that NTV Uganda and many other media houses do the inevitable and build the dreams of Hadijah and many other journalism students in Uganda.

With the freshers of Makerere University reporting to campus on 29th January 2022, it’s now an essential rule for every new student to report with a laptop to help them with their studies.

With this new directive, many people, especially students, are not pleased and aired their frustrations and concerns on social media.

Some Ugandans believe that many parents can’t afford to buy laptops for students following the effects of the pandemic. However, others know they are cheap gadgets that would be used to help with research and class work compared to using money to the money Makerere students spend on printing handouts and photocopying educational materials.

“Joined Muk in 2012 and didn’t really see why I should own one, of course there were those scenarios where you’d want it for something but alternatives are always available around you and they shouldn’t stress parents who can’t afford them.” A one Aaron Rigah commented on a post shared by KFM, a local radio station.

“Covid-19 has accelerated the need for technology in places of learning.Online lectures and sorts of meetings require you to have such gadgets. Please parents prioritize laptops for your children.” A comment shared by Daniel combs reads.

The COVID-19 outbreak affected many institutions and learning centres hence switching to online and virtual sessions. Makerere University based on these challenges among other reasons to order all freshers to report with laptops.

In 2020, Makerere University Vice-Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe revealed that students would get subsidized laptops for online studies with the help of a “giant tech company”. Nawangwe did not reveal the name of the company but according to current developments, the university is not concerned on how, where, and how much students get laptops as long as they report on campus with the mentioned gadgets.

These are some of the comments from different Ugandans:
