The 2017 Nile Special University Football League kicked off as traditional university football rivals Makerere and Busitema locked horns at Makerere university football grounds. The Makererians where out to impress their home fans they faced a tough challenge in Busitema who ‘knocked’ then champions MUBS out of last year’s competition and made it all the way to the quarter finals. Busitema University scored three quick early goals were in the lead for most of the game but the mighty ivory tower students put up a fight and managed to come from behind as the match ended in a stalemate 3-3 after an exciting game.
