UCU student named among top 40 Ugandan women under 40

Uganda Christian University fourth year Law student Shubrah Naiga Kasozi was named among the most influential women under the age of 40 for her outstanding work towards elevating less previleged women.

The 22 year old was featured alongside other powerful and influential women by the Vision Group towards celebrating and honoring their feats and positive contribution towards society.

Naiga who is also the president of the National Rule of Law Youth Council was recognized because of her initiative to help less previleged women through the start up of small scale businesses to emancipate them financially.

Naiga does this through providing a boulder to lean on for disadvantaged women such as those who have been molested, raped, teenage mothers by offering them capital to start up small scale businesses.

The same law student sometime back advanced 100,000 Uganda shillings to 30 women around Kampala to hawk bananas and earn a living in a project dubbed the ‘Banana Project’.

She now has a project named ‘Students against Covid 19’ where she brings around 500 university students across the country together by providing them with information that helps them to stay away from covid 19.

Shubrah’s story is one of hope and good will that the world still has positive young people out there who are willing and ready to create a positive impact in their communities and can only wish her the best ahead.
