Makerere University Guild Launches Student Employment Campaign

The Student’s Guild Leadership at Makerere University had a meeting chaired by Hon. Martin Asher to launch the Student Employment Campaign.

The 86th Student’s Guild Employment ad committee together with the general secretary wanted to be a bridge between the Student’s Guild and the University Administration on regards to human resource directorate.

This was done to enable exploring feasibility of aiding skilled and unskilled employment opportunities to students in the university and enable them achieve their necessities such food, tuition, and other needs respectively.

This initiative comes in the wake of failure of many students, especially the most financially disadvantaged ones, to sit for their final examinations due to the inability of their parents and or guardians to meet the University tuition requirements in time.

Furthermore, the Guild Committee has launched a survey whose results will be used as a comprehensive report and presented to the University Council.
